The Dying with Dignity Program, DWDP involves projects that ensure all stages of death are treated humanely by family members, service providers and the public in general. Every Nigerian and government authority would respect the need to bury the dead in a manner that is dignifying not as is the case in some of our public cemeteries, which are mismanaged and are abandoned.
Our DWDPs include
- DWDP Project #1 PRIVCEM – Developing a Private Cemetery which will serve as a model for other cemeteries in Nigeria to emulate. The cemetery will be well maintained in a clean, serene and well protected environment with modern facilities and trained staff to deliver quality service to the general public.
- DWDP Project #2 REVAMPC – Revamping of Public Cemeteries and Morgues. It involves activities to sensitize the government and public to improve the environment for the dead in cemeteries and morgues. This project will sensitize, teach best practices to be adopted by workers in cemeteries and morgues.
- DWDP Project #3 DIMA – DIGNIFY the Morgue Attendant.
This project will serve to recognize and reward the morgue attendant, identifying with the work they do in preparing the body for the morgue. This initiative will imbibe a healthy and happy mindset in morgue attendants in delivering quality services. This project also seeks to sensitize the public on the need to recognize the morgue attendants as a worthy profession and not as scary beings.
- DWDP Project #4 REMEMBER
Here we sensitize the general public to constantly keep the dead in mind through sharing of pleasant memories, preservation of family and cultural traditions through books, literature and monuments, visitations to the dead to incur in the living an appreciation and value for life. This project will remember past and present heroes for their contributions to humanity.
